What Does My Lab Test Report Indicate?

Hello doctor...I have got blood test , urine test and chest xray done as I had a throat infection since a month now.

Now a days I just get dry cough while sleeping and bit uneasy feeling in throat.

Blood test CBC shows Eosinophills -08
And ESR is 45mm/hr.Rest every thing is normal in test.

I urine test in chemical examination trace of occult blood is found and Microscopic examination , Pus cells 0-2,/HPF and RBC 0-1,/HPF is found.

Chest X ray show NO abnormality detected.

Is there any thing to worry and should I need to take any medicine for my throat. I am just taking RESWAS syrup at night.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
The CBC shows elevated number of eosinophils and elevated ESR.
High number of eosinophils are seen in allergies and parasitic infections.
The normal range for ESR is between 0-20 mm in 1st hour in females and 0-10 mm in 1st hour in males.
ESR is elevated in inflammatory conditions.
Dry cough could be due to allergic process and this is supported by elevated eosinophils.
The cough syrup Reswas will help to control the cough but it would not be able to treat the cause of cough.
The X-ray chest is normal and there is no evidence of allergic process involving the lungs.
In case there is history of any allergic process like hay fever, urticaria, asthma etc. then it is the most probable cause of cough and requires anti-allergic treatment since cough suppressant would not help alone.
