Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
FINDINGS: The cardiomediastinal silhouette is at the upper limits of normal. Thoracic aorta is tortuous. Stable linear scarring/atelectasis about the left mid and lower lungs. No focal pneumonic infiltrates are seen. There is no pneumothorax or pleural effusion. Bony thorax is intact. Am I okay
I have gone through your report and I will try my best to give you a satisfactory answer.
The findings in your report point towards chronic fibrosis. Chronic fibrosis is basically referred to as the thickening and scarring of the lung tissue which leads to difficulty in breathing. the rest of the findings such as cardiomediastinal silhouette and thoracic aorta are age related changes.
I would suggest you consult your local physician for detailed clinical history, evaluation and further course of treatment accordingly.
Meanwhile, I would suggest to quit smoking ifyou are a smoker as this may worsen your condition. Also, it would be a good idea to have vaccines for pneumonia and flu as these diseases further exacerbates difficulty in breathing in cases of fibrosis.
I hope this answers your question. Please feel free to contact HCM again if you have any concerns. Wishing you good health.
