General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
The following things can be concluded based on the ultrasound report you have furnished.
1. Uterus is in normal position as it is anteverted. Gravid uterus means that you have conceived. Presence of single gestational sac means that the pregnancy is single.
2. The gestational sac measurements of 1.4 cm corresponds to pregnancy of 6 weeks and 2 day.
3. Fetal pole is not noticed at this stage. Its appearance is the first sign of a developing embryo, which normally is seen by 6 weeks of gestation.
4. Both ovaries are normal in shape, size and position. There is presence of simple ovarian cyst measuring 5.1 X 4.5 cm on the left ovary.
5. There is no free fluid in cul de sac, which is normal.
Hence, you need to take another scan after 2 weeks to look for fetal pole and appearance of cardiac activity, which would state the pregnancy is viable.
Until then, relax and take adequate rest. Drink good quantities of fluid and eat healthy diet.
Consult your doctor with the report for further evaluation and management.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
