I had my yearly mammogram last Friday. Outside of some hormonal tenderness, my breasts are healthy, but dense. Although most mammograms are uncomfortable, they are never painful for me, but this one on Friday was painful for my left breast. Later Friday evening, my breast was really hurting and I woke up Saturday morning to swelling & redness around the nipple area. Sunday was much of the same. Today the swelling & redness are a little bit reduced, but still present. I ve been waiting for my doctor to return my call all morning. Is this a fairly normal occurrence for a mammogram? Should I be concerned?
Hello dear I understand your concern Dense mammogram could be due to normal according to change, fibrocystic breast disease. But regular follow up should require. Swelling and tenderness could be due to the mastitis, fibrocystic disease. Examination by general surgeon and USG scan will help in the proper management.
