What Does My Scabies Prescription “apply First Night, Repeat X1 1/7” Mean?
Hi. I have been diagnosed with scabies. I started applying benzyl benzoate 25 since 4 days ago. The script says I must apply the 1st night, and repeat x1 1/7. What does that mean? How many times must I apply? The scabies keeps multiplying when I m on application break.
It means that you have to apply the prescribed lotion for scabies on Day 1. You have to apply it from the neck downwards on your whole body in the morning. Leave it for 8–12 hours and then take a bath, washing it off. Doing so will kill the mites but not the eggs. So, you have to reapply it on Day 8. Re-application will help to kill the newly hatched mites before they can spread.
If scabies multiply after the second treatment, you may need another course of treatment. To prevent recurrence, you are advised to wash all your clothes, bedding, and towels in hot water and dry in sunlight or heat on the same day of treatment. Everyone who lives with you, sleeps in your bed, or has close contact should apply treatment on the same day so that they do not re-infect.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
