Doctor My semen analysis report

Active motile - 20%
Sluggish motile - 25%
Immobile - 55%
Total sperm count 88million/ml
Normal forms - 40%
Pus cell - 10 to 12 HPF
~ Does i have an infection? If so is it due to that the motality is low? total sperm count is a higher value.

Hello
Thanks for writing to HCM

Your semen analysis report suggests infection with decreased motility.Infection is indicated by presence of pus cells. Normally there shouldn't be any pus cells in semen.
Infection may be due to prostatitis,UTI etc.
You need antibiotics for infection.
Other investigation like routine hemoram,RBS,Ultrasound of pelvis should be done.Trans rectal sonography of prostate can be done if needed.

If motility doesn't improve with control of infection then you may need further investigations.
Rest of the findings like count, morphology are normal.
Hope i have answered your query.

Take Care
