Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello Doctor, I did my Sperm analysis and found that the motility is 21%, earlier it was 32 % (around 8 months back), its decreasing, the sperm count came as 45M/ml (where the ref range is >15M/ml), Whats should i Do? We are planning to have a kid? Regards, Nit
Hello Thanks for your query, based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have not posted detail and complete report of your semen analysis , The sperm count of 45millions per ml is well within normal range .As regards motility of 21% you have not mentioned whether it is active grade one sperms or total motile sperms.
It is percentage of motile sperms that are important from the point of view of fertilization of a female egg to result into pregnancy,Normal accepted grade one motile sperm by WHO should be within 12-15% of total motile sperms.
Please repeat your semen analysis with due precaution to collect semen sample after three days of abstinence..
