General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
The following conclusions can be drawn based on the Semen analysis report you have enclosed.
1. Physical characteristics like Appearance, Viscosity, Volume and pH appear to be normal.
2. Sperm motility seems to be less than normal with immotile sperms being around 40% and progressive sperms with about 32%.
3. Sperm morphology seems fine with 58% being normal, but the percentage of head defects is little more with 34%.
4. Sperm count is normal.
5. Microscopy seem to be normal and is not indicating the presence of infection.
Hence, it can be stated that the fertility index seems to be moderately less than normal as per the observations from this report.
Kindly take medications containing L-carnitine, alpha lipoic acid, CoQ10, Lecithin, Vitamin E, Selenium and Zinc for a month, as these substances act as nutrient for the sperms.
You need to repeat semen analysis to know for the improvement.
Kindly consult Infertility specialist with the report for appropriate evaluation and management.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
