What Does My Sperm Analysis Test Report Indicate?

1. Can Pus Cells of range 25-30/HPF cause germ cell damage, sertoli cell only syndrome and eventual azoospermia ? 2. Testicular Biopsy done in 2010 and it reveals Sertoli cell only syndrome - What could be reason fro this? Due to biopsy , Will it impact on testis function ? if yes how long biopsy impact will be there on Testis function in sperm production due to injury to testis? ( only once done so far in the year 2010) 3. Testosterone/FSH/LH were in normal range in 2011 ( testosterone 3.57, FSH 10, LH-5), gradually now FSH is 18, Testosterone has come down to 1.56ng/ml, LH 15, Prolactin 9- What does it indicate. 4. After some homeo medication - in 2012 i got sperm analysis report which said there are some primary secondary spermatocytes, tids seen but no matured spermatozoa. 5. Can you pin point whether Pus cells is the reason for Azoospermia if the above mentioned as per report is not in the normal range ( 25-30) HPF. If yes what is the reason for these pus cells? Can sperm count, production it be reversed to normal if infection was the reason for Azzoospermia, though infection already subsides 6.

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello and welcome to HCM,
Presence of pus cells in semen indicated presence of infection.
A course of antibiotic is required to treat the infection.
Testicular biopsy will not cause damage to testis and will not affect the process of spermatogenesis.
Sertoli only syndrome and absence of mature sperms are two conditions.
The former indicates that no spermatozoa are formed.
The second condition indicates that the early stages of development of spermatozoa are present but the mature forms are not present and there is a maturation arrest.
Treatment of infection is required, however, infection is the not the cause of azoospermia or absence of sperms in semen.
The hormone profile is also within normal limits.
The cause for maturation arrest of the sperms needs to be investigated.
The condition can be treated if the cause for maturation arrest is removed.
Mature sperms can be released once the maturation arrest is removed.
You need to consult an urologist for further investigation and treatment.

Thanks and take care
