My Dad is 55 year he his creatinine level is 3.3 , Urea 79, Potassium 5.6, , Renal biopsy is done impression is Renal Amyloidosis. after that they have done Bone marrow aspiration in taht microscopic finding is The marrow smears are moderately cellular. There is a trilineage proliferation of cells. The erythroid cells show nomoblastic erythorpoesis and the myeloid series shows a prominence. There is no increase in blast cells. The megakaryocytes are normal. There are no atypical cells or deposits of any abnormal material in the stroma. M:E ratio: 4.2:1 Cell block preparations also show similar cytological features as seen above in the direct smears. Impression : Unremarkable marrow study. along with that they have done kappa & lambda chain & the finding are as follows
Hello and welcome to HCM, The renal function tests i.e. creatinine and urea are raised. The normal range for creatinine is between 0.6-1.6 and normal range for urea is between 20-40 mg/dl. These results suggest deranged renal functions. Renal amyloidosis is a condition in which there is deposition of amyloid in the kidney around the blood vessels are in the interstitium. Amyloidosis is caused by deposition of light chains of immunoglobulins Thus, the test for light chains- kappa and lambda chains is done. Amyloidosis can cause deterioration of the renal functions. Amyloidosis may be associated with plasma cell dyscrasias and thus bone marrow aspiration is done to rule out plasma cell dyscrasias. You need to consult your nephrologist for further management.
