I started having pain near the left adnexa today and went to the ER. All my labs were normal but I had a us that had abnormal results. the impression stated -
"fluid in the cul-de-sac and in both adnexal regions. I do not see an intrauterine gestational sac. Correlation with beta HCG is recommended. tubular structure noted in rt adnexa just adjacent to the ovary. this structure does not have peristalsis within it. this could be a collection of fluid and is likely not related to bowel. This could represent a hydrosalpinx."
i tried to look it up on the web but am not getting the same answer at different sites. Does this mean Im infertile?
welcome to Health care magic. 1.The description seems to me like hydrosalpinx. 2.Free fluid indicates pelvic inflammatory disease. 3.It can cause infertility if it is hydrosalpinx. 4.If you have problem in getting pregnant you need to get HSG hysterosalpingography done, its is contrast (dye ) passed through the cervex which will show the spillage in the pelvic cavity, any pathology related to fallopian tube and uterus can be well examined. 5.depnding on your present complaint, do the needful investigations / treatment. Hope it helps you. Wish you a good health. Anything to ask ? do not hesitate. Thank you.
