What Does My Ultrasound Report Suggest?

Hi, I went for an endometrial biopsy a month aga following blood tests and an invasive ultrasound. I have an appointment with the obgyn tomorrow to discuss the biopsy results. I just wanted to know what questions to ask if the result was negative. My ultrasound had shown a 1.2mm thickness, and several fybroids and cysts in the uterus, cervix and ovaries. Largest size about an inch. I have a list of questions to ask if the test is positive, but I need to know what to ask if the test is negative. Is a biopsy conclusive? My doctor is not very communicative, and I feel I need to ask questions to know where I stand. Thank you!

Welcome to health care magic.

1.The biopsy is indicated if there is any suspicious growth or thickness in the endometrium.
2.Fibroids are generally benign aetiology does not need biopsy. The biopsy is confirmative as it will give the details about the nature of cells involved.
3.If it is negative, you are still symptomatic - operative treatment is suggested.
4.If positive, then further CT / MRI is needed to evaluate the extension of the disease process and any lymph nodal involvement.
5.Depending on your age and reproductive status - hysterectomy will be treatment of choice.

Good luck.
