I undergo a shockwave (laser) to treat stone at my urether. I also advised to drink medicines. After 2 weeks, my urologist gave me a request to go for followup KUB ultrasound. I'm confused because the result of my KUB was the same with the first ultrasound: Mild Pelvocaliectasis, Left. What does it mean? Thank you and God bless
Hello and welcome to HCM, The latest ultrasound of KUB region reads mild pelvocaliectasis, left which means that there is mild dilatation of the left pelvis of the kidney. There is no evidence of stone in the kidney. The stone has probably cleared after treatment with laser. There is only dilatation of the pelvis and probably stasis of urine in the pelvis.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
