my daughter is 16 years old and just missed her period , an altrasound was suggested and the findings are as below .. Findings: Urinary Bladder: Well distended and normal in shape and contour. No intrinsic lesion or calculus seen in it. Bladder wall is of normal thickness. UVJ clear. Uterus: Anteverted and measures 6.5 x 3.8 x 2.7 cm in size. Myometrium appears uniform in echotexture. Endometrium 8.8 mm in thickness and appears normal. Ovaries: Right ovary measures 4.9 x 3.3 cm and the left ovary measures 2.9 x 2.6 x 2.1 cm (vol 8.5 cc). 3.6 x 3.0 cm thin walled anechoic avascular lesion seen in right ovary. No solid component. No calcification. Multiple tiny subcentimeter-sized peripherally located follicles with central echogenic stroma seen in left ovary. No free fluid. No lymphadenopathy. Impression: 3.6 x 3.0 cm simple follicular / ovarian cyst on right side. Multiple tiny subcentimeter-sized peripherally located follicles with central echogenic stroma seen in left ovary, suggest polycystic ovarian disease.
