What Does My Ultrasound Scan Report Indicate?

My ultrasound showed fatty nacrossis on lateral side of right buttock. The dimple is quite deep and seems to be getting bigger. I also have lower back pain on the right side and a CT showed l5/s1 broad disc bulging. Could these be related? There has been no trauma to the nacrossis area whatsoever

Hi,

The two things do not appear to be related. In fact bulge disc in the spine. Can cause a backache if sever. Little bulge discs are common and not significant.

Fatty necrosis is different. It means there are dead fat cell in that area. Its mostly causes by trauma to an area with fats. Other possible causes are surgery, radiation etc. Mostly that does not need any treatment or concern.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
