What Does My Ultrasound Scan Report Indicate?

My daughter age 32 had a ultrasound last week and she has a peri pancreatic lymph node (1.8 x 0.8 x 1.6 cm.). There is also a solid mass on her right kidney which is small and atrophic ( which we knew about ). Her kidney is 4.6 cm in length and the mass is 2.2 x 2.0 x 2.2 cm. She is scheduled for a CT on Tuesday. She was treated at Mayo and had kidney surgery 15 years ago. My dad died of pancreatic cancer at age 72 and my brother was diagnosed with kidney cancer at age 40 ( kidney was removed and he is doing well 24 years later) and my grandfather died of kidney cancer at age 52. What is a peri pancreatic lymph node and what can be done about it?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Peripancreatic lymph nodes may be related to kidney mass. She is rightly advised for a CT scan. A CT scan will help in further characterization of lesions.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Indu Kumar
