What Does My Ultrasound Scan Report Indicate?

Hi. I had a one biopsy of uterus that showed I had Hyperplasia without atipia. Dr put me on megace and later had another biopsy that showed the Hyperplasia was gone but I had endrometrial atropy consistent exogenous hormone effect. The problem is ever since the 2nd biopsy I have bled for over 2 months. They did ultrasound and exams and have found nothing wrong. The bleeding slows to maybe a tablespoon a day sometime. It s like a regular period. Prior to 1st biopsy I went over 4 yrs with no bleeding. They suggest hysterectomy but I m not sure I want that done. Will the bleeding stop. I m 59 yrs old. Is it my uterus thinning because of menopause or atrophy. I barely bleed some days but just a small amount.

Hi,
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.

I had gone through your question I can understand your concern about your uterus related issue.

You said there are two important signs ans symptoms that is continuous bleeding, atrophy of endometrium. Though the Dr had found no atypia in your histopathology repost but sometimes hyperplasia and atrophy can also transform to dangerous conditions too.

You are also loosing continously some blood at the expense of Ab organ which is non functional though not totally, to you.

You must plan the treatment as per the your doctor. Atrophy can be too because of post menopausal changes but bleeding and other associated symptoms may need you to look as per your treating doctor.

Hope my answer will help.
Regards
Dr Muzaffar.
