What Does My Ultrasound Scan Test Result Indicate?

I have had 3 ultrasounds over the past 7 months to monitor a separated cyst in my right ovary (slight change in size). My most recent pelvis/transvaginal ultrasound has noted: a number of tiny echogenic foci within my cervix / findings suggestive of inspissated secretions within a number of cervical glands. What does all this mean? I do have an upcoming appointment with my primary & gynecologist later this month but I would like to be more educated as hysterectomy has been suggested. I am 55 years of age, no pregnancies, history Hpv & abnormal cells (cryo treatment) 20+ years ago. Thank you for your response.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the issue sounds to be related to hormone level alteration with uterine and ovary changes.

When hormone therapy and the rest of the conservative medications are tried over a period of time, hysterectomy is the ultimate and best solution to cure the condition and prevent secondary complications arising from the same.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
