What Does My Urine Test Result Indicate?

just seen my Doctor yesterday had a him check my urine with a Dip... because in the morning my urine has a bad smell, as i have a SCI and self cath... pH value 7.0 protein value Trace, Urobilinogen value 8. leukocytes value trace. ketones neg. Specific gravity value 1.025. should i be concerned because i have some pain in the morning? im 54 male use a wheelchair past 15 years

I have gone through your query and would try to help you in the best possible way.

For a person who has cath in,which is highly susceptible to get infected these urine test results are really very satisfactory every thing is going nice and fine .I congratulate you that you are taking good care of your self and following your medical issues properly that shows in your results.

WHY PAIN: Any Foreign thing which is forced inside the body has to irritate you,body hates it when we try to interfare with its natural internal environment but sometimes there is no other way,so body sends your signals that it isn't happy with it by small itching or pain...that has to stay there.

Reason:
Cath is usually a silicon or a Soft rubber material but still body detects it as foreign object so inflammatory reaction goes on which causes itching and pain

2-sometimes urethra goes into spasm which causes pain.


Suggestions: If i were your doctor i would suggest:
(1)Ciprofloxacin 500 mg twice a day for 5 days
(2) Citro soda mixed in water thrice a day
(3) and a safe common pain killer which would also do with the inflammation and it would have hopefully relieved you.
