Radiologist 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

It is possible that there is a mistake in writing the report. A cyst earlier seen in relation to the right ovary and then being reported as a left ovary with cystic changes is unlikely to happen within a month. Please request the radiologist to have another look and then confirm the findings.

The earlier seen cyst is measuring same as the present one only the side and probable origin is different. In this case it is better to confirm once with the person doing the ultrasound scan. Cancer is less likely but depending on appearance and growth of the cyst it is suggested to do certain blood tests for hormones and tumor markers and get treated by medicines and do repeat ultrasound scan after 3 months. Please do not worry.

Radiologist Dr. Vivek Chail's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

An ovary is called bulky if it measure more than 10 cc in volume. Since the left ovary volume is larger than normal therefore it has been reported bulky.

The cyst earlier being present next to the right ovary and then disappearing within a month only to appear on the left side is probably an error in reporting. Sometimes typing mistakes are there in the report. Such doubts are to be clarified with the radiologist who has done the ultrasound scan and they will surely confirm by doing repeat scan. Please do not worry.
