General & Family Physician, Dr. Shanthi E's Response
Hi Bindu,
The test shows positive for typhoid bacilli; however the titer is low at 1:80. It is significant if the titer is 1:160 and above.
The titer for paratyphoid bacilli is negative.
It means to say that the antibodies to typhoid bacilli are present in your body but they are very low.
To confirm the status of Typhoid infection, repeat the widal test after 2 weeks and look for raising titers.
Hope this helps.
