Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My first CXray result said I have PTB Hazy infiltrates at the upper right lung . I have already undergone 6month of medications. After that, I took CXray again and the finding was already normal. Does it mean that my PTB didn t cause any scar to my lungs? Please help me understand. I have plan to work abroad but this give me worry.
Welcome at HCM I have gone through your and being your physcian i completely understand your health concerns. for how long u are suffering from it? any other associated problem? like diabetes or hyptertension? are u smoker? In my opinion , the pulmonary TB didnt affect your lung much if u have started the treatment earlier and proper medications were used. the best way is to compare the CHEST XRAY before initiating the treatment and with the one after treatment. As u have mentioned that post TB x ray was normal. it would be lot better if u send me the pics of your both Xrays so that i can comment properly. generally speaking , if treatment started in time , the tb heals with little scarring of the lungs meanwhile stay calm Hope your query is adequately addressed if you still have any feel free to ask Regards Dr Saad Sultan
