What Does Neck Pain Every Morning Post Injury Indicate?

I hurt my neck a couple of months ago. The doctor took x-ray and stated that I have DJD. However I walk up everymorning hurting for a little while. Then it goes away, but comes back when I do certain things. Should I be worried they it my be something else

X-ray is not a good method to see the spine injuries. It just gives handful of information. However there might be some injuries (like spine compression) invisible in this test. That is why you should consult orthopedist and have spine MRI done.
