What Does No Free Fluid In Douglas In Ultrasound Report Suggest?
My child is 10 years old she is being tested for Turner syndrome and is going through certain test. The ultrasound test of the pelvis was done and the findings are as given below.
Ut is anteverted and measures 2.4 x 1.2 x 0.6. Rt ovaries is 1.2 x 0.6 and Lt Ovary is 1.1 x 0.7 bothe are normal. No evidence of any free fluid in the pouch of douglas. there is no obvious adnexal mass lesion seen.
You have absolutely normal findings. Uterus is normal in size. Both ovaries are also normal in size. There is no fluid in POD.It is a normal finding.Normally there shouldn't be fluid in POD. However, mild fluid may be associated with ovulation.Other conditions like pelvic inflammatory disease(PID) etc are also associated with fluid in POD,so it is normal that there is no fluid in POD. Both adnexa are also normal.
Hope I have answered your question. Take Care Dr.Indu Bhushan
