What Does Numbness In The Extremities Indicate?

my father is 82 years old and on gabapentin 100mg 3x daily. he started taking gabapentin 1x daily for a couple of days and says that his lower extremities feel numb or don t feel them. Could that be the cause of reducing meds? he has high cholesterol / Diabetes and takes simvastatin 20mg and Glucophage 500mg. Thank you.

make sure his glycemic status is controlled.
and gradually taper dose of gabapentin .
All of a sudden tapering dose from 300mg to 100mg can aggrevate his symptoms of peripheral neuropathy.
And it would be better if you go for gabapentin with methylcobalamin combination .
