What Does Numbness In The Lower Body Indicate?

I m 35, 5 3 135 lb. The past couple of days I ve been experiencing slight numbness from the waist down. The first night it was while I was in bed, the past couple days it s started later in the day. I just recently started escitalopram but I didn t see this as a side effect listed. I do have 5 bulging discs in my back and have been having sciatic pain the last few days also. My grandfather had ms. Hoping this is related to the bulging discs but should I be concerned that it may be something else?

Hi welcome to HCM...

I can understand your concern....

Your bulging disk is leading numbness here that seems on first impression....
(Bulged disk compress spinal cord )

For that consult orthopedic surgeon for examination.....

You might need physiotherapy , exercises ...
Napoxen or suitable NSAIDs group drugs given...

If inflammation more than steroid or epidural injection needed ....

If bulging disck not improving with conservative therapy than decompression surgical therapy might needed. ..

Take care ....

Advise : orthopedic surgeon consultation for examination....
