What Does Numbness On The Left Side Of The Body Indicate?
My husband has had tingling and numbness in his left side for a couple weeks. It started in his feet and legs, but now is up his arms, neck and even ear. He said he feels off-kilter , like he just got off a boat and has sea legs. He said his left side feels like when your face is numb after a cavity is pulled. When he touches his arms or legs on left side, he said it feels like he rolled in insulation. Ideas?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
First of all it's sad to know what you had been going through lately.
Based on the history you have shared, unilateral neurological deficit necessitate for work up including brain and spinal card imaging but before that neurological examination by a neurologist can help to identify the level and nature of lesion.
Spinal cord related deformities can also cause selective sensory loss depending on the area of spinal cord involved. The symptoms need to be worked up and shouldn't be ignored.
