What Does Numbness On The Upper Lip Indicate?

My wife, Julie (age 47), is saying her upper lip (on both sides) feels strange and that she feels like it s hard to get her words out. She sounds and looks fine and normal to me. She also says that over the past few days, her left hand feels arthritic; she can t grip as tightly as she s accustomed to, she says.
