What Does Oval Mass In The Breast Indicate?

I have been told that I have an oval mass in the right lateral breast. I am having a diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound in the morning. I am very nervous and was wondering what the word mass means? Is this a hard knot, fluid filled cyst, or just what does it mean?
