Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Does Pain And Twitching Sensation In The Groin Area Indicate?
My right leg had painful twitches in the groin area (like at the top joint). Then two days later I woke up and could barely bend that leg. After sitting for a while, getting up was very painful and I felt quite stiff. I had trouble with steps, getting into the car, walking, and had to move my leg with my hand to step on the brake in my car. It s not so stiff now (3 days later) but is twitching again like it did before. What could it be and what should I do? Thanks.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
As per my clinical judgment, the severe pain in groin with these much difficulties of movements indicate acute ligament sprain or strain with or without underlying nerve compression.
Primary relief with local analgesic spray or ointment, anti inflammatory medicines, assisted physiotherapy would be best result oriented things.
Thanks.
