What Does Pain Around The Kidney Area Indicate?

Yes......I have been having pain over/in my right kidney for 3-4 days. I have a history of kidney stones; however, sometimes the pain flares up and then goes away. This time, ht has become much more intenside. Today, it is now hurting in my upper right abdomen, as well. I am nauseated and have heaved a few times. I should tell ou, I have no stomach. It was removed 6 1/2 years ago due to gastroparesis.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You need to consult your doctor for clinical and lab assessment. Your doctor will do ultrasound for your kidney to reveal any stones. At the moment, you can benefit from drinking 2-3 liters of water with over the counter analgesics when necessary.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
