What Does Pain Around The Right Kidney Indicate?

Hello, I am having pain in my right kidney. It has been a dull pain but it got a lot sharper a few times today. I got hot flushes and started feeling very dizzy and nauseous a few hours ago but that only lasted about 15 minutes. I also have slight discomfort while urinating. I have arranged an appointment with my doctor but that won t be until next week. Do you think it is a kidney infection? And should I try arrange a sooner appointment? Thank you for your time

Hello
Thank You for trusting HealthcareMagic for your health concern

The pain you are experiencing can be due to infection of kidney (pyelonephritis) or ureteric stones. The two conditions can sometimes be coexistant also. You will need urine analysis, Xray abdomen, CT abdomen to confirm the diagnosis. If infection is present, initiating antibiotics early is very important. So please be advised to follow up with urgent care as soon as possible. Meanwhile, drink plenty of water and take Tylenol for pain.

Hope this answers your question
