What Does Pain Around The Waist Indicate?

Hi doctor. For about two years, I ve had pain on my waist (the joint that connects my right femur to my pelvic girdle). Sometimes i feel the pain inside my bone even while sitting down, I feel a sharp pain at that region too. The is worsened each time I lay down and sometimes while bending too. Please what could be the cause of this pain and what should I do about it? Am a 27 years old lady.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per your age, persistent hip pain is concerning Femeroacetabular impingement (hip impingement). It occurs when femoral head rubs abnormally against the acetabulum.

The physical examination and x-ray hip are required at this point. So, please be advised to follow up with your orthopedician. Meanwhile, you can take Advil medicine for pain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Lekshmi Rita Venugopal
