I m having pain on the back of my neck on the right side. I awakened from sleep Monday with this pain in my neck. The pain comes and goes. At times, it hurts really bad. This have been hurting for 4 days now. I have been using hot compresses. This works some of the time after applying compresses for some time.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi

Thanks for the query. I understand your concern. It seems you have joint /muscular strain/spinal stress (disc problem). Exerting pressure on your nerves supplying to the neck.
You should try with NSAID pills like (Ibuprofen) , continue with hot or cold compresses to get relief from pain .
Then start with mild neck movement exercises which would ease the movements after few days.

In case there is no relief, you need consultation of an orthopedic surgeon.

Thanks.
