What Does Pain Below The Left Hip Bone Indicate?

I have a dull pain last couple of days, will most likely make app with doctor tomorrow but right now just trying to work out which type of doctor. lower left part of back, very specific,(slightly below the hip) Someone mentioned the word flank but not sure what that is.. also (and not sure if it is related), a few stomach issues past few days?

Location of pain just below the hip is not flank pain. The likely cause should be hip or spinal problems. You can follow up with your primary provider to get an X-ray of hip and spine done. If needed primary provider will refer you to an orthopedician.
