Hi,
Thanks foe asking.
The type of pain your mother dwscribe seems to be nurogenic in nature. The irritation or pressure on nerve suplying the arm could be at thorasic spine or shoulder joint or the shoulder blades.
Consult a orthopedic doctor ( for detailed examination,x ray or mri ) for his expert advise.
Thanks.
