What Does Pain In Left Tonsil Indicate?

A while back during winter break i got sick and was coughing a lot. And i would continuously cough and my left tonsil started to hurt. It would continue to hurt when i coughed but as i got better it was on and off.Every now and then ill do something and i feel that sharp pain but its only in the left tonsil. so do you know whats wrong?

Hello

unilateral/one sided pain in the tonsil can be due to tonsil stones , cyst or an infection and i would like you to meet your ent doctor for confirming this . meanwhile i would like you to start gargling with warm salt water 2-3 times a day.
