Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have pain in my hands and feet. Previously diagnosed with Poly Cythimia. Redness and tenderness in hands and feet and feel like I am walking on blisters. Shooting little pains in hands and feet. Most prevalent at night when I go to bed. Doctor wants me to see neurologist and gave me a sample of Lyrica. I prefer not to have to take another medication without finding the underlying cause. When I wake up in morning I have lower back pain and slight weakness in legs. Is there a difference between Poly Cythimia and Peripheral Neropathy? It seems the symptoms coincide. Should I see a Nerologist or Hematologist first?

polycythemia u would have more itching rather than pain and its diffuse not specifically on hands and feet.u are also having lowbackache.this type of pain usually because of neuropathy..check your blood sugar which may be the culprit and visit a neurologist for the current issue.
