What Does Pain In The Hips And Back Indicate?

I have churg strauss and am currently receiving methotrexate shots weekly. I recently have been experiencing pain in my hips and back, but the pain in my hips is not in my joints, but more so in my tendons or muscles. It hurts the most in bed at night, and when I get up after either sitting or lying down. It hurts quit a bit when I have to go up stairs or when getting up and down off the floor. I am a preschool teacher and am up and down all day long. My thighs should be getting stronger, but I think they are getting weaker, and it is getting harder to work. My hands and fingers are much worse this year also. My new rheumatologist suggested adding plaquinel and/or prednisone shots. I amconcerned about prednisone due to so much in the past and my bones. Mobic used to help arthritis but it doesn t seem to touch it. What is your take on this, and does this sound like churg strauss related? I have had it for years with the sinus, allergy, asthma, intestinal, and brain lesions with neurological issues. The methotrexate shots literally gave me my life back, but I am concerned about losing my mobility and the significant pain.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

As per my clinical experience, the Churg–Strauss syndrome usually involve nose, sinus, nerves, intestines, heart, lungs and rare type of vasculitis.

The narration of symptoms do not sound to be in relation with Churg–Strauss syndrome, rather than I predict acute ligament issue around hip. An MRI would be best mean to evaluate the same.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
