Hello,
To determinate if you have
Rheumatoid Arthritis there may be done the following tests:
erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR)
C-reactive protein (CRP)
full blood count
rheumatoid factor and anti-CCP
X-rays
MRI (to produce detailed images of your joints)
Common symptoms include:
stiffness in the joints, particularly in the morning, this affects the hands and feet and is symmetrical, but often the dominant hand is more severely affected.
Swollen, painful joints (called synovitis). The joints are soft and boggy, quite different from the square, hard, bony swelling of osteoarthritis (OA). The swelling is due to an inflamed joint membrane (the synovial lining). There may be fluid in the joint (an effusion). Fatigue, one of the most important pointers to the diagnosis is a rapid loss of function of articulations.
What conditions may be confused with RA?
Fibromyalgia
Polymyalgia Rheumatica
Osteoarthritis
To make a diagnosis follow the tests I suggested before and contact a
rheumatologist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Suzana Zharri,
