What Does Pain In The Left Testicle Indicate?

I have occasional left tetical pain. Like I ve been hit in the balls. It comes on slow and will stick around all day. Severity of pain depends on type of work and bending over a lot. My job this last year consisted of lifting and loading very heavy logs into a shredder. I m 45 and very strong still. Is this a hernia? Also no sex in 3 years. Possibly what s wrong?

It may be hernia but there would be a lump felt during cough or sport activity.In this case it may also indicate epididimitis which is inflammation of part of testicle and this not uncommon in males especially in young age. This is usually treated with 10 days of antibiotics, usually ciprofloxacin and there are no permanent consequances. MAsturbation and intercourse should be avoided till pain persist, if possible since I may prolong inflammation course. Some more serious conditions such as tumors or torsion are rare but in doubtful cases you should do Doppler ultrasound or scintigraphy. In this particular case, I don’t think this is required and this should improve on antibiotic therapy.
