What Does Pain In The Lower Abdomen After Swallowing A Bone Indicate?
I swallowed a rib bone but a good size one and my stomache is aching so bad. It started on my right side now it s spread to my entire lower half of my stomache. Should I go see a doctor or just wait it out. My stomache is very tender when I touch it and when I stand up it s tender.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Slight pain is quite common after swallowing hard solid object like bone. Once it sized the stomach, it will generally passes out through feces and there is nothing much to worry about it. You can take laxatives like lactulose for symptomatic relief and helps to clear it out through stool. You can also take anti spasmodic like cyclopam for pain relief. If the pain persist, it is better to take an ultrasound to look for any obstruction.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
