Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
For the past two to three days I noticed a pain in my mouth at first only gave me a horse speech.. But in the middle of the night my mouth became so sore I ran and got a cough drop. My tongue stuck to the roof of my mouth . I felt as dry as a desert. My tongue is inflamed red and sore, and just now I noticed white spots on my gums. This all is painful plus I can't taste my food.
Your symptoms are appearing probably to be due to Dry mouth as dry mouth can cause inflammation inside mouth by thinning of the mucosa causing Glossitis and Stomatitis..
White spots on gums can be due to sores or ulcers over the gums..
If there is a white coating over the tongue then it can be due to yeast overgrowth or Thrush..
So my suggestion is to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a clinical examination and if needed an oral swab culture can be done for diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
For now you should start gargling with specialised mouthwash like Magic mouthwash to reduce inflammation as well as pain.. You should take Vitamin B complex daily.. You should chew sugarfree chewing gums and use mouth lubricants like Oralgel to reduce dryness in mouth.. Sip water intermittently..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
