What Does Pain In The Neck And Spine Indicate?

I have been to a chiropractor for about a year for treatment of military neck and migraines. Helped quite a bit. I am now experiencing lightening bolt pain and hypersensitivity in my low neck down my spine about 4 vertebrae. My doc says its trap muscle and prescribed cyclobenzaprine. It did nothing. any suggestions. I feel its more spine and not muscle

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

You may need to consider imaging of the back/neck Abnormal function of the nerves, called neuropathy, can cause the sensations that you mention.

An MRI which would show nerves, muscles and vertebra may be the best imaging option for you.

Treatment would depend on the findings.

I hope this helps
