hi sir/mam,
tailbone pain is in no way related to typhoid.the condition is termed as
coccydynia.its not that uncommon.many patients come to my clinic with similar symptoms.i give them the following suggestions:
1)avoid prolonged sitting.sitting on very soft cushion pillow is advised.
2)oral medications like NSAIDs(
ibuprofen,
aceclofenac etc),analgesics tramadol,
acetaminophen, anticonvulsants pregabalin(lyrica) gave promising relief of pain.
3)
physiotherapy of
pelvic floor muscles.
4)if the pain is very intense,a caudal epidural local aneasthetic with or without corticosteroid is recommended.
before going for the above treatment, its better to rule out the following conditions where the scenario is more or less the same:
1)coccygeal fracture
2)intrapelvic malignancy or metastatic tumours
3)ischial bursitis
4)lumbar degenerative disc disease
to rule out the above conditions, lumbosacral MRI,bone and CT scan of coccyx.you can go for an ortho consultation or can try the treatment mentioned above for 1 week.if pain persists or aggravates, you can consult an orthopedic surgeon.hope you got adequate and clear explanation.any issues further are welcome with pleasure.thank you.take care.bye.
