What Does Pain In The Temple On The Right Side Indicate?

In the last 24 hours, I developed a sensitivity to the surface of my scalp as well as periodic shooting pain in my right temple and sometimes down the right side of my face. Primarily, the pain remains on the surface. I appreciate any guidance you could give me.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Your short history of sensitivity to the surface of scalp, periodic shooting pain in temple, sometimes down the right side of the face is classically indicative of a Trigeminal neuralgia unless proved otherwise.
I would advise you the following in such a situation:
Consult your Doctor for clinical evaluation, examination, particularly blood pressure, get investigated like MRI for the vascular loop around the Trigeminal nerve and others as needed, get a reference to a Neurologist and get a proper diagnosis for an appropriate management.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
