Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am experience a very strange pain in my right upper arm. It is like having a bad tooth ache or maybe a boil. No problem using the arm and does not hurt to pick up, or raise my arm. It is like a continual ache. I went to the clinic, but x-ray showed nothing significant. Muscle relaxes do not help much, Ibuphrophen does, but I should not be taking it often. Any ideas, or anything I can do or ask about?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
This much intense pain which is not clear with normal x-ray and not responding to muscle relaxant, indicates possible neurological pain due to various reasons.
I strongly recommend to undertake a course of qualified physiotherapist's treatment for a period of 5 to 7 days with continuous intake of anti-inflammatory drugs. Later on if required, an MRI may be needed.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Purva Patel
