What Does Pain In Wrist, Swollen Knuckles And Fingers Mean?

I started experiencing pain in my left wrist today and prior to the wrist pain my knuckles are swollen. It started with my right index finger & now a couple of fingers are swollen as well. i was diagnosed with rheanards a couple of years ago. could this be a symptom of that? thank you for any help you can give.
