What Does Pain On The Left Side Of The Abdomen Indicate?

Experience slight pain and uncomfortable when sleeping on my left side in the last month or so. Slight pain getting up and down out of bed or bending over. Had a hernia about 11 years ago and reminds me a little of that pain but not as bad. Bloating almost everytime I eat a meal. Acid reflux or indigestion is common for me most nights. Wondering if this is a hernia or something with an internal organ.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advise.

If you are experiencing similar symptoms you had when you had the hernia it is important to have an ultrasound to rule out hernia. This is important because when hernia gets painful it will need quick surgical repair to prevent complications.
Please see your doctor and make sure you have the ultrasound.
If the ultrasound is normal than other causes like muscular pain and constipation can be considered and treatment for these can be tried with ibuprofen, fiber supplements and lactulose syrup but please have the ultrasound first.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
