What Does Pain On The Left Side Of The Abdomen Indicate?

I have had left side pain for 20 years. It comes and goes. It is very painful at times. I have had an hysterocomy in 2012. Earlier today i started to have one of my pain episodes and then it went striaght to my head. To the point i thought my head was going to explode. My doctor tells me to take an anti acid medicine and thats not the issue. What could be going on? please help

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

In my opinion, we should first get done ultrasound abdomen to rule out internal abdominal pathology. If ultrasound is normal then no need to worry much. Sometimes stress and anxiety can also cause similar kind of abdominal pain and head pain. Anxiety causes irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Some variants of IBS causes chronic abdominal pain. So better to consult psychiatrist and get done counselling sessions. Try to identify stressor in your life and start working on its solution. You may need anxiolytic drugs like Propranolol or Flunarizine combination. Librax tablets twice daily is also effective in IBS. Don't worry, you will be alright with all these. Avoid stress and tension, be relax and calm. But first get done ultrasound abdomen.
